Abhyas

One term very important to me is “Abhyas.” which can mean daily practice. The implication is something you do every day–perhaps twice a day–no matter what. You actually form your day around it. Once you do this you get out of the tendency to do your practice “when you feel like it,” and begin to  work counter to the unconscious patterns that are affecting your perceptions and choices 24 hours a day. These patterns will be hidden until you make the firm commitment to abhyas–then you will begin to uncover these counterproductive patterns. This uncovering is the first step to become free of their influence.
